MKD Electric is seeking an experienced Temp-to-hire Help-Desk Technician. As part of this role…

 

The Help Desk Technician is part of a team of IT Professionals who provides in-house technical PC hardware and software support including answering queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. The Help Desk Technician will work with a variety of IT hardware, software, electronic communication systems, equipment and systems including desktops, laptops, network connectivity, and Windows software. The ideal candidate must have good technical knowledge and must be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain the solution.  

 

What you will do…

 

  • Maintain ticketing system for prioritizing tasks
  • Assist team members with PCs, servers, networks, printers, software, and phones
  • Perform routine network and PC installation, and troubleshoot, maintain and resolve any related problems
  • Setup new users in our systems
  • Remove/disable system access for departing employees
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Coordinate upgrade of desktop equipment and software
  • Escalate issues to other IT members if required
  • Be the primary point of contact for personnel with any IT question or task
  • Maintain phone system users, teams, and call flow logic
  • Grant/revoke access to various internal and external systems
  • Train personnel on how to best use the different systems and tools

 

 

What you will need to succeed…

 

  • PC hardware and software experience
  • 1-3 years experience with proven desktop support, or related role
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, trouble shooting and decision-making ability
  • Possess excellent organizational with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload being mindful of deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, crawl, and use a ladder
  • Possess certifications in Microsoft or Cisco technologies preferred
