The Powercor team is seeking a best-in-class BMS/EPMS Installation Superintendent, willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field!

The BMS (Building Management Systems)/EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) Installation Superintendent will oversee and manage all aspects on BMS/EPMS installation projects within mission-critical data center environments.

What you will do…

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor installation teams, including internal technicians and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and quality standards
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations of the job crew, including task assignments, resource allocation, and progress monitoring
  • Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E, etc.), and quality control measures
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for BMS/EPMS installation matters, liaising with clients, general contractors, engineers, and other trades
  • Participate in project coordination meetings, providing accurate updates on progress, identifying potential issues, and proposing solutions
  • Manage tool control and inventory on the job site, ensuring efficient use and security of equipment.
  • Ensure the job site is clean, organized, and safe always
  • Oversee and actively participate in the precise bending, cutting, threading, and installation of various conduit types (EMT, Rigid, PVC) for BMS and EPMS cabling pathways, ensuring compliance with NEC and project specifications
  • Direct and ensure the safe and efficient pulling of all low-voltage and control cabling within conduits, cable trays, and other raceway systems
  • Supervise and perform precise termination of control wiring and communication cabling within BMS and EPMS panels, adhering to schematic diagrams and manufacturer specifications
  • Oversee and execute the accurate termination and wiring of various BMS and EPMS field devices, including sensors, actuators, meters, and control points
  • Proficiently read and interpret complex electrical schematics, control logic diagrams, single-line diagrams, blueprints, and other technical drawings to guide installation and troubleshoot issues
  • Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, electrical, IT) to ensure seamless integration of BMS and EPMS components within the overall data center infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to BMS and EPMS installations, wiring, and component functionality
  • Support commissioning activities by ensuring all installations are ready for testing and verifying point-to-point checkouts
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress logs, and installation documentation
  • Compile and submit end-of-job deliverables, including red-lined as-built drawings, QA/QC reports, and closeout documentation
  • Generate RFIs (Requests for Information) and other necessary communications to address site conditions or design discrepancies 

What you will need to succeed…

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications or vocational training in electrical systems, controls, or a related field are highly preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical installation, with at least 3-5 years specifically supervising BMS/EPMS installations in data center or critical facility environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in conduit installation, including hand, mechanical, and hydraulic bending
  • Proven experience in cable pulling, termination, and testing procedures
  • Strong background in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, control diagrams, and one-line diagrams
  • Experience with various BMS/EPMS platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, Tridium, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards
  • Thorough understanding of data center critical infrastructure, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in low-voltage wiring, control circuits, and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Ethernet/IP)
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, clients, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
